Rural hot springs resort that hires international students to work during summer time. The area is beautiful and full of outdoor activities. Resort is located 2500 metres above sea level and surrounded with mountains, perfect for people who love nature and hiking. The nearest village is 7 minute drive far and city of Salida 25 minutes by car. Unlimited outdoor recreation alternatives indulge every interest, in every season, at every level.

Located in Nathrop, Colorado between the towns of Buena Vista and Salida, Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort is ideal for family vacations, romantic getaways, mountain weddings, or corporate events.


Guarded pools, water slide and spa are located in hotel complex.

Work: As a lifeguard you will work in two main positions.

  • Lifeguard position: Prepare pools and pool house for opening, Lifeguarding, Run towel laundry, Clean up pools and building after closing!
    • Everyday you will be assigned to one of these shifts, alongside lifeguard duties you will also be responsible for:
      • Opening – picking up the bank at the office, checking the cleanliness (Vacuuming) of the whole pool area (including restrooms) and also measuring the chemistry of the pool and adjusting it.
      • Midday – keeping the whole pool area clean. That contains picking up and stocking sliding mats, watching the pool, grabbing some thrash, when you see it.
      • Closing – cleaning the whole pool area. Setting back up the chairs, scrubing the pool walls with metal brush and cleaning restrooms (mopping, sanitizing, restocking toilet paper and liquids). You are also responsible for setting robot vacuum cleaners and adjusting the chemistry of the pool.
    • There’s no need to be afraid. You just need to be a good team, help each other! Cover everything. It’s resort pool after all and you will be in charge of it.
  • Pool attendant position: Welcome hotel guests and provide them with towels and lockers, sell day tickets and operate basic POS program, maintain facility and pool decks clean, laundry.

For most part lifeguards will be scheduled doing lifeguarding at the Upper Pool. Occasionally could be scheduled as Pool Attendants at Historical Bathhouse to rest off the sun and practice their language skills.



Lifeguard: red swimsuit/redlifeguard shorts required. Lifeguard T-shirt and hat provided!

Pool attendant uniform: black pants, dark covered non-slip shoes required. Black polo T-shirt provided.


Housing: Provided in the resort

Housing costs $120/month (utilities and internet access included). Estimated cost of housing per season $360. Dorm-style type of housing. Common area consists of a living room with a TV with satellite television, kitchen, and laundry facilities. Units are furnished with beds, bedding (pillow, sheets, comforter or quilt), silverware, pots, plates etc., microwave.

2-3 students share the room in the unit/chalet.


How to get to work?

On foot, cause housing is arranged in the resort few steps from pools. Maximum 5 minutes walking surrounded with beautiful nature.


Pick-up and drop-off at the airport: Provided


Useful info and reccomendations: Grocery run will be provieded once a week.

Purchasing own car is strongly reccomended, you can ask maintenance if they can go check the car with you.

Resort also provides for its employees some outdoor activities like rafting, horseback riding and so on (usually for very small mandatory fee – for rafting its $5).
