Since 1977, this employer has been providing custom swimming pool management and maintenance services for the clubs, hotels, apartments and homeowner associations throughout the Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC and West Virginia regions.

Location of pools:

Maryland, Northern Virginia, Washington DC Metropolitan area. The location you will be assigned to will be
determined by Community Pool Service as this is dependent on many factors.

1st timer $10.25/hour or applicable minimum wage, if higher

Overtime: $15.375/hour

2nd timer (with CPS) $11.00/hour or applicable minimum wage, if higher

Overtime: $15.50/hour

Pay frequency: bi-weekly on pay card, every other Friday, pay stubs available online

# of days per week: 4 to 6

# May 18 – May 24, 2019 – up to 20 hours cleaning and getting pools ready for opening day.
# May 25 – September 2, 2019 – POOL SEASON – 45 to 55 hours guaranteed per week, depending on the area

Early Arrival Bonus: $50 – must arrive already trained on or before May 22, 2018. Payable November 2018.

Performance Bonus $100 – based on EXEMPLARY performance for the entire season. Payable November 2018.


Job Description: 

  • Monitor swimming pool activities to prevent accidents and provide assistance to swimmers;
  • Maintain order and safety in the pool and pool areas, rescue swimmers in danger and administer first aid if required;
  • Inspect the pool for cleanliness, clean pool, pool areas and bathrooms on a daily basis;
  • Customer service/satisfaction, communicating with patrons and respond to their needs;
  • Checking pool passes


Most swimming pools are open six or seven days per week, including Saturday and Sunday, from 10 am to 8 pm. Expect your work schedule to be between these times. Do not expect to be free on the weekends or holidays.


You will be required to work Memorial Day Weekend (May 25th – 27th), Independence Day Weekend (July 2nd – 4th) and Labor Day Weekend (September 1st – 2nd).


Uniform: A standard uniform consists of a red bathing suit, 2 lifeguard T-shirts, a whistle and a fanny pack. Uniform cost: payable cash upon arrival (MEN – $55, WOMEN – $64).


Housing: Provided

All housing units have 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms, 1 or 2 bathrooms for a maximum of 6 persons per unit. The employer provides dining table, chairs, couch, lamps, linens and basic kitchen supplies.

Housing cost: $ 115 per week, payroll deducted biweekly.

Employer will no longer be providing free bed linens. Students will need to request these when sign the job offer with Czech-us at a cost of US$20.00 upon arrival.

$120 Utility allowance per apartment, per month.

Housing deposit: $200 (payable cash upon arrival) – NO EXCEPTIONS!.

The housing deposit will be refunded upon successful completion of the program and check out from the program. Any charges company receives for cleaning/damages will be divided equally amongst the residents of each apartment and deducted from housing deposit. Housing deposits are usually refunded in November 2019.


How to get to work?

Your housing will be located within a short commute – walk, bus or Metro (up to one hour) from your swimming pool. You are responsible to get to and from work at your own expense.

You will NOT be in the center of Washington DC. Your housing will be located in a suburban area.

We do NOT provide bicycles, but we offer assistance in getting you to the store.


Pick-up at the airport: NO – arrival instructions provided
