The Put-in-Bay Dairy Isle is a family-friendly fast food destination. For sweet ice cream treats or a burger & fries, The Dairy Isle is the perfect stop!

Positions and duties: 

Counter staff and Food Prep

*Serve Ice Cream and Ice Cream Novelties
*Work the grill preparing food items.
*Work the fryer preparing food items.
*Other food preparation as needed.
*Provide customer service
*Take orders and ring up sales
*Operate a cash register
*Operate the dishwasher
*Cleaning the Kitchen as needed.
*Additional responsibilities as requested by the Kitchen Manager

Hourly wage:  $9.25/hour

Overtime hours available for $13.88/hour

Employees will work 6 days a week with 1 day off per week. Your shifts will vary with a variety of morning, afternoon and evening shifts. Working weekends and holidays is required.

This employer owns 4 restaurants on the island, so you can eventually work in any of them. More details on restaurants will be provided before interview.

Bonus may be available (not guaranteed) based on performance and will be at the employer’s discretion. Participants who do not work the dates they agreed to in their job offer will not be eligible for the bonus.

Uniforms – Employees must purchase two uniform shirts at a cost of $15.00 each. The employer will provide a third shirt free of charge. Sweatshirts are available for a charge of $30.00 Uniform fees for shirts/sweatshirts will be deducted from your pay check. Employees must purchase two uniform shirts at a cost of $15.00 each. The employer will provide a third shirt free of charge.

Male employees must be clean shaven. Hair must be kept neat and restrained while working. Piercings are not permitted. Groups of friends and couples can apply together, not guaranteed that employer will hire everybody.

Hourly wage:  $9.25/hour

Bonus – Employees receive a 50% discount on meals during their work shift.

Employee housing provided by the employer and is located within walking/biking distance of the work location. Bikes available to rent for a cost of $35 for the summer.

Rent $100/week/person + $300 housing deposit

Dormitory style: Apartments that house 5-6 employees in a two bedroom-two bathroom apartment. All apartments have a living room, fully equipped kitchen, with all amenities, including washer/dryer. Utilities are included. Possible to ask for double room for couples.

You can choose to purchase bedding package for a cost of $50.00 and includes new comforter, blanket, pillow, mattress pad, sheet set, towel set and beach towel. If you choose to purchase the Bedding Package it will be deducted from your Housing Deposit.

How to get there? ✈️ Recommended airport Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

It takes about approximately 1.5 hours from Cleveland airport to reach the ferry dock in Port Clinton and the charge will be approximately $150. If you are traveling with other employees your cost will be less.

If arriving at the bus station or train station in Sandusky it will cost approximately $45.00 for a taxi to the Ferry.

Ferry from Port Clinton to Put-in-Bay costs $7 (one-way ticket).
