Job Description: As this is a full-service Resort, participants will be hired as a Resort Attendant where participants will have the opportunity to perform a variety of jobs and be placed at jobs which best suit their interests and experiences. Note: 50% of the job will be as a Housekeeper.
- Housekeepers: As a housekeeper, participants are responsible for cleaning (washing, dusting and vacuuming, tidying) standard hotel rooms [bedroom and bathroom] and property common areas. Job duties include picking up after a guest, preparing fresh linens (doing laundry less than 10% of overall job), making beds, dusting furniture and fixtures, washing floors, vacuuming carpeted areas, emptying trash cans, cleaning windows, cleaning the bathroom and toilet and keeping the guest rooms stocked with accessories and the bathrooms stocked with supplies.
- Counter Attendant/Cashier: Job duties include greeting customers and explaining products and services for sale. Employees inform customers of prices and discounts and/or special deals. They also are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the work space, as well as presenting items in an appealing manner. Counter attendants also often handle the return and exchange of items and usually have to make sure the money in the cash register equals the amount of transactions at the end of each work shift. Counter attendants must possess excellent customer service skills. They should be energetic, professional, courteous and engaging. They also need to be organized and have good communication skills, capable of accurately relaying product information to customers. Other skills require the ability to handle cash and inventory, excellent english to interact with customers and co-workers, and possibly technical skills to operate computers or other electronics.
Work Hours: You should expect to work 32-40 hours/week. Overtime is sometimes available. We are extremely busy during the summer so there will be a lot of opportunity to work. Housekeeping works more hours than any other department, and one should not expect a day off every single week. Sometimes it may be several weeks without a day off in that department. Your supervisor will assign your shifts to you.
Uniform: 👕 Participants are to provide their own khaki (brown) shorts, skirt or pants and close-toed, non-skid shoes. Participants should be neat and clean when coming to work. Participants should ask their supervisor if they have a question about what is suitable.
Housing Information: $85.00/week, no deposit is required, BUT housing is EXPECTED to be returned in the condition it was given.
Housing provided onsite is a dormitory style building, located next to the onsite movie theater. Participants will be sharing rooms, 2-4 per room; divided by gender,
each with their own bed on bunk beds. Private bathrooms are included in each of the rooms along with a microwave and small or large refrigerator. Participants are able to purchase a hot plate and use the communal grills outside the dorm. Please see housing contract or manager for details and questions.
Laundry service is onsite for a fee, so participants are encouraged to utilize laundromat within walking distance of housing. WiFi is not available in rooms, but is available for free in the common areas of the Resort. Participants should bring their own web-enabled devices.
