WAGE:
$16/hour + 25 cents per year being a lifeguard
Guaranteed hours: 40
Overtime: yes, sometimes, 1.5x base wage
Days per week: 5-6 days, hours per week: 40-50
Additional hours are possible at the beginning and end of the summer season. There may also be additional opportunities for work and compensation by teaching swim lessons or guarding swimming pool parties.
BONUSES:
- Start date no later than May 24 – $200 cash
- Start date no later than May 31 – $150 cash
HOUSING:
The cost of housing is $170/week + a $150 nonrefundable administrative fee that must be paid before each guard arrives or deducted from the first paycheck (in addition to the cost of housing) and will include the uniform (swimsuit and one Douglas Aquatics branded shirt).
Utilities (gas, electricity, water, trash) are included in the monthly cost.
Apartments are furnished with beds, living room table and chairs, microwave, refrigerator, lamps, and Heat and Air Conditioning.
Usually 5 or 6 people share the unit, 2 or 3 people per room, 2-3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator, sink. Students should provide their own linens and houseware. Kitchen dishes are provided.
