WAGE:
First time guards: $15/hour
Returning guards: $15.50/hour
Managers: $16.50/hour
Guaranteed hours: 40 hours with a lot of over time in the begging and end of summer ranging up to 25 hours extra
Overtime: yes, sometimes, 1.5x base wage
Days per week: 5-6 days, hours per week: 40-50
Additional hours are possible at the beginning and end of the summer season. There may also be additional opportunities for work and compensation by teaching swim lessons or guarding swimming pool parties.
BONUSES:
- Start date no later than May 23 – if you come before May 23rd will pay $1100.00 of your fees to come over here + $300.00 for lifeguard training reimbursement in first paycheck in the USA
- Start date no later than May 30 – if you come after 23rd but before May 30th will pay $800.00
- Start date after May 30 no later than June 20 – if you come after May 30th will pay $400.00
All the above-mentioned bonuses apply if you work at least until September 1st.
HOUSING:
The cost of housing is $180/week + a $200 nonrefundable administrative fee that must be paid before each guard arrives or deducted from the first paycheck (in addition to the cost of housing) and will include the uniform (swimsuit and one Douglas Aquatics branded shirt).
Utilities (gas, electricity, water, trash) are included in the monthly cost.
Apartments are furnished with beds, living room table and chairs, microwave, refrigerator, lamps, and Heat and Air Conditioning. Bed kitchen table and dishing washer dryer.
Usually 5 or 6 people share the unit, 2 or 3 people per room, 2-3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator, sink. Students should provide their own linens and houseware. Kitchen dishes are provided.
